Stare Master — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Stare Master mobile app ("Stare Master," the "app") collects, how it is used, and how it is shared. It supplements the Magnate Interactive Privacy Policy; where the two differ for the app, the terms below apply.

The short version. Stare Master uses your device's front camera and Apple's TrueDepth / ARKit face tracking purely as a sensor to detect when you blink or look away during a staring contest. This face data is processed entirely on your device, is never uploaded, is never shared with anyone, and is not stored. The app itself has no servers and collects no account or personal information.

1. Camera and Face Data

Stare Master's core gameplay is a staring contest: the app watches for the moment you blink or look away. To do this it uses your device's front camera together with Apple's TrueDepth camera and the ARKit face-tracking framework.

What is collected

Real-time, numeric face-tracking values provided by ARKit — primarily eye-blink coefficients, eye-openness / gaze direction, and head orientation (yaw, pitch, and roll).
The app does not capture, analyze, or retain TrueDepth depth maps, facial-recognition data, or any biometric identifier that could be used to identify you.

How it is used

Solely to run the game: to detect in real time when you blink or look away, which ends a round and drives your on-screen opponent's reactions.
It is never used for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than gameplay.

Disclosure and sharing

Face and camera data is processed on your device only. It is never transmitted off your device and is never shared with any third party, including our advertising partners and Apple Game Center.

Retention

Face-tracking values are processed in memory during an active round and discarded continuously; they are not written to disk and are not stored.
If a replay clip of a round is recorded, it remains on your device and is automatically discarded unless you explicitly choose to save or share it. Choosing to share a clip is entirely under your control.

2. Advertising and Tracking

Stare Master is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Ad consent is gathered using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).

Before any personalized advertising occurs, you are asked for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the app works exactly the same and you may see less relevant ads.
With your permission, our advertising partners may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and ad-interaction data to measure and personalize ads. This is handled by Google AdMob and is governed by Google's advertising policies.
You can change your choice at any time from Options → Privacy Choices in the app, or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Purchasing the Pro upgrade removes ads entirely, and no advertising or tracking permission is requested for Pro users.

3. Game Center

If you sign in to Apple Game Center, the app submits your scores and achievement progress to Game Center so leaderboards and achievements work. Game Center is operated by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. No face or camera data is sent to Game Center.

4. Purchases

The optional Pro upgrade is sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Payment and transaction handling is performed by Apple; Stare Master does not receive or store your payment details.

5. Data Stored on Your Device

Game preferences and progress — such as sound and haptics settings, difficulty, win/streak statistics, and your reminder preference — are stored locally on your device and are removed when you delete the app.

6. Information We Do Not Collect

The app has no backend servers of its own. It does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or photos, except where you explicitly choose to share content (for example, tapping "Share" to send a score card).

7. Children's Privacy

Stare Master is suitable for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
